Georgia + Pollen + Black Dog=

This is what happens when your black dog enjoys rolling around in the sun on the porch after weeks of disgusting pollen falling in Georgia. Needless to say, I had to wash down the dirty dog with Baby Wipes before letting him back into mi casa. Wow, he really is my child.

New Year's Bowl Games

{ very sleepy, ZZzzz... }

One of the perks of New Year's Day is the plethora of college football on TV. Our Bulldogs are playing in the Capitol One Bowl versus Michigan State today. This is one of Mr. Grubbs' favorite days, however because of the amount of adult beverages that were consumed to welcome in 2009 he and Doc are taking a little rest from the pigskin excitement for the time being. Later we are going on our first date of '09 to the movies. I think we will see Cruise's new movie Valkyrie- it is about a plot to kill Hilter. I'll have a review of it tomorrow. Happy first day of '09!

To Doc With Love

So Doc received his first piece of addressed mail
. It was from his Uncle Rebel (Erik's dog that lives with his parents). It was a Christmas card, and he was very excited to open it. In fact once we opened it for him he wouldn't let it go. He read it over and over again. He even carried it around the house with him. Thanks Rebel, Merry Christmas to you too.

Must Have: For Cleaning

As I realize more and more that my little furry darling Doc is a child, I also realize that I really need a steam cleaner. While I like to think that he is the cutest AND cleanest dog- he is not. So I need some back-up and so does our lightly-colored microfiber sofa. I spied this ditty in Target's Sunday circular and I must have it.

House cleaning is my life. Lots will be done VERY soon...

Beautiful Things

{Image courtesy of Desire to Inspire}

Not only is this room gorgeous with its neutrals, textures and cool blue accents, it features an adorable mini-dach just like my little one. Puppies, they get me every time.

Dino-Doc

Doc accepts a lot of 'abuse' from Mr. Grubbs. This is the latest installment via Halloween. I know it's early but this is too hilarious to wait to post. Happy Halloween from the Grubbs!

{Really ?}

{Why do you do these things to me?}

My First Subject

{I'm ready for my close-up}

Doc was a willing and eager model for my new camera. My family got me a Cannon PowerShot SD1100 Digital Elph 8mp for my birthday. I LOVE this camera. It has a huge viewfinder ( my main reason for wanting a new camera), a great zoom and awesome clarity. I also like that you can easily switch from Macro to Auto settings- great for close-ups! but the coolest thing is that when you are viewing your pictures on the camera if you turn the camera it will turn the picture too! Amazing what they can do with technology.

A new Ball for Doc

Our wonderful dog Doc has a problem. He is addicted to his one and only toy, Blue Ball. He will play with it all day, take a nap and play with it so more. He loves his ball. We are not trying to deprive him of all the wonderful things Pet Smart has to offer, but he will destroy any toy with a soft fuzzy exterior. Also he loves to play hide and seek with himself. He will hide his toy and then try to go and find it again. This is hilarious and fun for everyone but he will hide his toys under our couch and will not be able to get them back out which causes him to cry and scratch at the couch- not fun for anyone. So in order for Doc to have a toy it has to meet 2 requirements- no fabric, and must be large enough to not fit under our couch. So far Blue Ball is the only toy that meets the criteria and is fun for Doc to play with, however his old ball was quickly becoming a stinky, gross ball full of slobber and falling apart- it had to be replaced. We went to Pet Smart and replaced Blue Ball and Doc couldn't be happier! He couldn't wait until we got home to start the fun!

P.S. He will bite your face off if you try to take his Blue Ball!!

Sorry for the long post about my dog, but I don't have children yet so Doc is my source of motherly attention and entertainment.

Puppies!

Our baby Doc is getting busy! We are going to be studding him out with a very cute Red Mini-Dachshund named Sasha very soon. Our part of the breed deal includes pick of the litter. So I am looking to find a family that would be interested in a puppy. Since Doc is Black and Tan and the female is Red the puppies could be either coloring. Please leave me a comment to this post if you would be interested in getting a puppy!
