Clean, Clean, Clean

{ Say what? A bath?! }

A busy cleaning day around the Grubbs' house. First we started our day with a delicious lunch at our favorite spot, The New Yorker Deli. Then we headed to our friend's house to visit their new bundle of joy Stetson. I was right on time for his afternoon feeding, so I got to sit and give him his bottle. After a nice long visit we headed to Home Depot for a couple yard items.

We cut the grass, weeded, blew clippings and fertilized everything. A nice fresh start to the Spring growing season. My hostas are popping up everywhere and the shrubs are fresh and green. Once we got the outside done we moved the festivities inside. We started with Doc. He is usually a nice sleek black dachshund, however since he played on the porch while we were in the yard, he had since turned to a nice chartreuse with pollen. Erik gave him his bath, and I cleaned our bathroom. I love getting the house clean on the weekend so then I don't have to worry during the work week. But wait, OH YEAH, I'm officially on SPRING BREAK!!!! No more work for me for 7 days!!!! I'm sure I'll come up with plenty to occupy my free time.

Where have I been?

{ Longingly waiting for another post...}

So sorry for being absent over the past few days. There have been many developments since the last post. A lovely family in our 'hood was struck with tragedy when a spouse succumbed to leukemia. The young couple has been married for only a couple years, and the wife has been battling the disease since 2007. We will pay our respects to her and her widow this weekend. It has really made me love and appreciate my wonderful husband even more. I just keep thinking, how could I EVER manage my world without him? It is an easy answer: I couldn't. So needless to say the weekend wasn't off to the best start.

Saturday was a little happier. It was spent doing my 2 favorite things, cleaning and shopping. I spent a glorious 3 hours- yes 3, cleaning my master bath from tip top to bottom. I love the feeling of a clean bathroom. I scrubbed right down to the bottom of every drawer and crack. Then when my tub and tile was gleaming with delight, I headed to the stores. I have a problem with buying and then having shopper's remorse and returning. So I gave several lovelies back to their respective homes and even picked up a couple workout essentials and headed home. Mr. Grubbs and I spent a wonderful evening with the Grahams and a pizza and Netflix. We watched Vantage Point- I wouldn't recommend but the company was the main event of the evening.

SUNDAY: the icing on the cake. My Steelers, oh how I love thee. You made me worry, you made me sweat, but then you made me ecstatic!!! What a wonderful end to the weekend.

Must Have: For Cleaning

As I realize more and more that my little furry darling Doc is a child, I also realize that I really need a steam cleaner. While I like to think that he is the cutest AND cleanest dog- he is not. So I need some back-up and so does our lightly-colored microfiber sofa. I spied this ditty in Target's Sunday circular and I must have it.

House cleaning is my life. Lots will be done VERY soon...
