Happy Birthday!

To my Wonderful Mom. You have given, Tony, Becky, Dad and I the most amazing life we could have asked for. When I was little I remember staying up late with you while you worked on projects like your dollhouses, helping you with Girl Scout duties and running from practice to football games in our van. We have had countless, memorable family dinners in which I left with a stomach ache, not because I ate too much, but because I laughed too much! Now I rely on you for cooking tips and advice on how to deal with stress at work. 

Being silly and having fun has always been the Inglese way, and I couldn't imagine it any different. Times have been pretty rough lately but you have managed to weather it all.  Family is our strong-suit and you have done an amazing job of keeping it together. I love you and I hope that you have an amazing birthday!

Update: Pittsburgh Front

{It's the Pitts...}

My lovely mother is still away in Pittsburgh with my Aunt E and Grandma. The latest report from the nurse is that Grandma's heart is going strong! She is much weaker now, she is hardly able to get out of bed but she still has a little fight in her. It is so hard to see someone you love hurt, so I can't imagine how my mom is coping, but she is. I can't wait for her to be home. We miss you!

A Mother's Daughter

Yesterday my Mom left for Pittsburgh. We moved here to Georgia when I was about 2 years old. My mother and father's families are from Pittsburgh and most of my mother's family is still there including my grandmother. My grandfather passed away last Thanksgiving and my grandmother's health has been declining ever since. She has been living on and off with my Aunt E for the past couple months with a nurse who comes and checks in on her a couple times a week. The reason for my mom's departure was a phone call from my aunt saying that my grandmother is rapidly declining and that my mom should come to spend time with her. This is very hard for my mom who is so close to her family, it is the reason why we are close as a family.

My family is a huge part of my life. We spend most Sundays together for dinner, and are in constant communication with one another. My mom and are very close as well. She is a funny, loving and caring woman, and I respect her so much for what she has done for my brother, sister and I. I can only hope to be as great as a mom as she is. 

This is going to be a trying time, but I know that because our family is strong that we will get through this. I love you Mom.
