Old Navy is wheeling...

And dealing! I just stopped by while Erik shopped at REI and all of their "basics" are on SALE. This is a great opportunity to pick up some classics to add to your upcoming spring wardrobe. I'm really excited for the return of the maxi dresses- most comfortable piece of clothing EVER! Their cotton dresses are also returning this year for $19.50. But the basics are where the deals are.

Solid color layering tees and tanks for $5.

Jeans, any style, for $19.

V-neck cardigans for $20.

The winter clearance is still truckin' as well. They are offering Free Shipping for online orders over $75. Go shop, now!

New WorkOut Gear

Working out has become a large staple in my life at the moment. At the very least, Mr. Grubbs and I make the short drive to our gym 3 times a week and sweat our buns off for around 2 hours. After a long day of chasing kids, cleaning up paint, glue & boogers, and having been told a million endless stories about the tooth fairy I look forward to slipping into my workout clothes and giving the weights a good beating. It always helps to also have something cute to wear. Because I am a cheapskate I love finding bargains on my gym clothes and right now my favorite threads to rock are from Old Navy. I picked up the following pieces to add to my growing collection of black pants and colored tanks:

{ Women's Mesh Inset Sports Bra, $15 }

{ Layering Tank, $8.50 }

{ Cropped Yoga Pants, $16.50 }

When buying workout clothes, ALWAYS make sure that the clothes fit well. You want to focus on your form not your wedgie. Also pay money for the important stuff, shoes & sports bras. These 2 things support important features that are miserable when they ache, so take care of them. Tanks on the other hand get stinky and sweaty so you don't want to spend tons of money of them because you are going to want to toss them in a few months anyway. When you are comfortable at the gym you are more likely to stay there and really work, but if you have an excuse to stop and leave you will too, so don't give in, and get some new duds!

New Pretties

Mr. Grubbs and I have a fun Friday night ahead of us. A friend of my sister Ashley I. is having a CD release party for his band and we got an invite to it! I'm very excited about having a fun night out, we haven't had a real good one in a while. Which obviously leads to a new outfit, so off to the mall I go. I often have a hard time looking for a worthy purchase, as much of the "going out" clothes tend to be very tight, low, skanky, etc. And when I do find something I like it is expensive, but I don't like to pay a lot because I don't wear these types of clothes often- I'm more of a comfy-chic gal. But I did find 2 very cute shirts from Charolette Russe and lots of earrings to choose from. My favorite shirt I couldn't find a picture of but I also picked up this one:

To go with it I got these earring from Forever 21:

Forever 21 is a good place to find these cheap, not-so-often worn clothes. As the saying goes, pay cheap for trends and expensive for classics.

I'll have to post some pictures from the party with the new threads.

Christmas Purchases

My dear, darling sister, an avid blog reader who saw my Christmas wishes, gave me an Anthropologie gift card for Christmas this year. So Mr. Grubbs and I braved the mall madness to go and stimulate the economy with a little shopping. Armed with my free money and a little more from a very sweet relative, I was ready to spend. But the only problem was that the store is completely amazing and I couldn't choose. See I'm a thrifty gal, so I am not used to spending upwards of $60-100 on ONE shirt- don't misunderstand, Anthro has AMAZING clothes that are worth the money, it just isn't my daily routine to spend so much, but I was ready for the task. But then I couldn't decide if I wanted to be mindful and get 2 less expensive things or one really great piece. I found this adorable shirt that I feel in love with:

Then a dilemma arose. I also found this necklace that I also had to have but would put me over my limit:

To the rescue, Mr. Grubbs!! He bought the necklace for me, so sweet! Now I have a gorgeous new outfit to indulge myself in. I think I'll pair my lovelies with some matchstick jeans, tall boots and a cinched belt. Perfect! I hope to visit Anthropologie soon, I'm saving my pennies!!

Green Stocking Stuffers

{ Stockings available at PotteryBarn.com }

Of course we are all trying to be more Green right?
I'm trying to be a realist too, because I don't always remember my reusable bags when I go to the store, so I figured that I can replace some everyday things to help fight the cause. Here are some good things that I would be happy to find in my little stocking.

Method Cleaning Towels: These little towels can be reused over and over on your Granite, Stainless Steel and glass surfaces. One of each please!

{ $4.99 }

EcoTools Make-Up Brushes: The handles are bamboo and the bristles are cruelty-free, plus they come in a little tote to carry them in.

{ 10.99 }

Burt's Bees Super Shiny Lip Gloss: Petroleum Free and they make your lips look fabulous! I like Sweet pink.

{ $6.99 }

Happy Green Holiday shopping!

You can create RSVP cards, holiday cards and just because cards. You also have the option of having  your return address printed on the envelopes. These are my favorite designs:
