Holy Motherhood!

When you approach your early to mid twenties it's weddings. Every weekend there is a shower for someone and your summer is booked every Saturday from June to August with nuptials. Then as you head towards your thirties it's babies. I have several lovely lady friends who have given birth to adorable little lovelies in the past year and a couple who are due this year. But this weekend takes the cake.

On Friday, our dear friend Heather delivered her little girl, Corri via c-section. She was several weeks early but mom and baby are doing great. So as Erik and I were celebrating and congratulating her, we received a call on Saturday that Erik's friend Clifton and his wife were in Labor and Delivery about to welcome their little boy. At 3a Saturday morning Stetson Michael arrived. Both moms were on the same wing! So Sunday we went and visited the families. It is always heart-warming to see the new parents so filled with joy and happiness. I love how nurturing the hospital rooms feel with a new family in them.

And still to come...

My best friend Katie and her husband CJ will be welcoming their little one later this year. Katie is very far away in Omaha, but she sent me some pictures of the baby.

Isn't it amazing how much you can see! Like a little submarine in the belly looking at him/her (they are going to be surprised with the sex of the baby). I can't wait to see Katie's belly, I'm already jealous- I think bellies are so precious!

Congratulations Katie and CJ!

Mom to Be

{No this is not our regular attire.}

My dear neighbor and friend Lesley and her husband Sam are going to be welcoming their wonderful daughter Matilda into the world tomorrow. I can't believe that 9 months have passed so quickly- I'm sure that Lesley would say otherwise. Not having any children of my own yet, I am constantly thinking about what these two amazing people must be thinking and experiencing. To go through the process of a pregnancy, waiting for a child to be born, thinking about it, preparing for it, then in an instant your whole life changes. Today they are a married couple and tomorrow a family. That is an extremely powerful thought. One that I'm not ready for now and sometimes I wonder if I'll ever be ready. Mr. Grubbs and I want a family, we will have a family but until I see the two pink lines saying we are going to have one, I guess I'll always have a doubt.

I have amazing examples to learn from. My mother and father are the two greatest parents I know. All be it, I'm biased but they have instilled in me everything that I feel is important for a strong, healthy family to have.

So for Mr. and Mrs. Graham, I wish you a healthy, comfortable, and loving delivery of Matilda. We'll be sending happy thoughts your way and we are so excited to meet little Miss. Congratulations and enjoy your new family, may it bring you all the joy in the world!
