The Simple Mr. Grubbs

I love the fact that Mr. Grubbs always knows what he wants
. Christmas gifts are no different. He knows exactly what he wants this year- shopping time. Yes, a man, who longs to shop. The only difficult part of the equation is that he is by far the most difficult person to shop for. Shirts must have cuffs, but no stripes, orange, yellow or single buttons. His hats must be low-profile, his jeans without pre-worn holes, and his t-shirts must not be too tight. So how do you shop for the man who wants anything, but specifically something...

Visa cash baby. He only requires a gift card. He has a list, checked it twice and only needs the money to make it work. No creativity needed, just a Visa Gift card.

Simple, easy, perfect. Mr. Grubbs.

Green Stocking Stuffers

{ Stockings available at PotteryBarn.com }

Of course we are all trying to be more Green right?
I'm trying to be a realist too, because I don't always remember my reusable bags when I go to the store, so I figured that I can replace some everyday things to help fight the cause. Here are some good things that I would be happy to find in my little stocking.

Method Cleaning Towels: These little towels can be reused over and over on your Granite, Stainless Steel and glass surfaces. One of each please!

{ $4.99 }

EcoTools Make-Up Brushes: The handles are bamboo and the bristles are cruelty-free, plus they come in a little tote to carry them in.

{ 10.99 }

Burt's Bees Super Shiny Lip Gloss: Petroleum Free and they make your lips look fabulous! I like Sweet pink.

{ $6.99 }

Happy Green Holiday shopping!

My Christmas Wishes

It's getting closer! As we reach Thanksgiving, the demand for Christmas lists has begun. I'm sure you are like me and would love to have all your shopping done early- and while you have the $$$. So I'm going to let you in on a couple of my wants for this year's gift giving:

CuisinArt Mini-Prep Food Processor: I love how small it is, and it is perfect for getting ingredients ready for dips, spreads, and toppings. (I'm very bad at chopping with a knife!)

    { Kohls }

A Stainless Steel Stock Pot: I'm in need of another so that I can make my spaghetti with meatballs with bothering my neighbor Lesley for her's! An 8 quart one will work well.

    { Target }

Iron Serving Rack: Perfect for serving fingers foods at all the football gatherings at the Grubbs house!

    { Target }

Drinkware: Our glasses are due for an update. I liked the modern shape of these at Kohls.

    { Kohls }

***This is the one I really want: Northface Windfall 1 Fleece (girls XL) in Brownie color. This fleece blocks the wind and cold!

I think this about does it, for now :) I'll just be glad to survive the shopping season myself!

My Birthday Wishes

I love celebrating birthdays, especially since you get an excuse to eat cake- I'll take any excuse I can! Mine is coming up soon, and the enviable question is looming over: What do you want?? This is the part I hate. I never know what to say- do I say what I REALLY want or need, or what I think people will buy or what I don't want to buy for myself. Way too much pressure. The husband and I are going to have a nice, romantic dinner together on my birthday and then I am going to celebrate with friends and family on the weekend following. So I have been racking my brain as to what I WANT, so here is a list of what I would like to have (some can be purchased but some are just things I wish others could do for me :) )

1. A new pair of brown casual shoes: Marshmallow in brown by Rocket Dog.

2. A new digital camera: Cannon Digital Elf -8 @ Best Buy

3. Filing Cabinet: Erik (hehe) from Ikea in Green

Now on to my "I wish someone would do for me" List
  • Stain my front porch a dark espresso brown
  • Finish the construction on the retaining wall on my side yard
  • Repaint my master bathroom a neutral brown- I can't look at the Celadon green any longer!!

There seems to be much "To Do" at the Grubbs house so in lieu of gifts I would lovingly accept manual labor. But I really would just like to take some R & R to hang out and have fun!

Love Notes

I [heart] Personalization!!! So when I found these adorable notecards from Fabulous Stationary I was super excited. I saw their advertisement in the back of my Blueprint Magazine last month. There are tons of modern, quirky, and organic designs to choose from. You can have the notecards personalized with your name or message. They also have business cards designs. You can create RSVP cards, holiday cards and just because cards. You also have the option of having  your return address printed on the envelopes. These are my favorite designs:
